This website, DallasHelo.com, was created in January 2020, to share information about a woman who operated a bothersome helicopter.
From October 2018 through March 2020, the woman, flown by a separate pilot, in a very noisy, high-vibration, 30-year-old Sikorsky S-76B (the same type in which Kobe Bryant died), buzzed at 500 feet the same people, along a 30-path straight line path, from Addison to Rockwall, an estimated 10,000 homes, 5 days a week, starting before dawn, six times per day. She also buzzed people in their cars on roads and highways. The harm she caused, although short-lived, was immense, and continual, for 1.5 years.
The purpose was so the woman could save a few minutes driving time when taking her kids to school. She planned to do this for the next 11 years.
A city official for Richardson tried to stop this. Many Home Owners Associations tried to stop this. Many people called Addison Airport with complaints. A major local network television station contacted me and began preparing a story.
Perhaps due to my actions, e.g. exposing the facts on this website, the operator in early 2020 seemed to: a) stop flying at 500 feet AGL and start flying at 1,000 feet AGL, and b) start flying a little off of centerline each day, to not buzz the same people.
With Covid-19 shutting down schools in March 2020, and school not to resume until September 2020, another five months, she was not flying in May 2020. I hold out hope that, when school does resume, she will either: a) use a different model helicopter and continue to fly respectful of the people on the ground, or b) explore other options. The prior information here was no longer current, and so was removed, on May 17, 2020.
